Forging a New Chapter: PPM School of Management and Hanoi University of Science and Technology Strengthen Partnership

JAKARTA – Building on a robust foundation of existing academic cooperation, the PPM School of Management (PPM School) recently, 15th September 2025, hosted a delegation from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) to discuss a significant expansion of their long-standing partnership. This visit marks a pivotal moment in the relationship between the two esteemed institutions, shifting from a focus on collaborative research to a broader, more integrated academic exchange.

For years, PPM School and HUST have been key partners in co-hosting major international conferences, serving as vital platforms for scholars and practitioners across Asia-Pacific to share groundbreaking research. These events include the annual Asia-Pacific Management Research Conference (APMRC) and the International Conference on Emerging Challenges (ICECH). The success of these conferences has demonstrated a shared commitment to academic excellence and a mutual trust that has laid the groundwork for this new phase of collaboration.

The HUST delegation, represented by Dr. Nguyen Thuc Huong Giang and Dr. Thai Minh Hanh, was welcomed by Dr. Erlinda Nusron Yunus, S.TP., M.M., Ph.D., PPM School’s Vice Dean of Academic Affairs. During the meeting held yesterday at the PPM School campus, the discussion went beyond the traditional research partnership to explore new avenues for cooperation.

The key areas of focus for this deepened collaboration include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Student and Faculty Exchange Programs: These initiatives will provide invaluable opportunities for students and faculty to gain international exposure, experience new academic environments, and foster cross-cultural understanding. The exchange programs are designed to enrich the educational experience and prepare students for a globalized workforce.
  1. Case Teaching and Writing Workshops: PPM School has a long-standing reputation as a pioneer in developing and utilizing its own real-world cases for classroom use, a strength among higher education institutions in Indonesia. Recognizing this unique expertise, HUST expressed keen interest in having their faculty taught to teach and write these practical, local cases. Furthermore, this partnership will extend PPM School’s mission of providing workshops to other institutions, empowering more educators to adopt a practical, case-based teaching methodology.
  1. Joint Research Initiatives: While a core part of their existing partnership, these discussions aim to strengthen and expand joint research projects into a wider range of management and business disciplines. This will leverage the combined expertise of both institutions to produce impactful, globally relevant research.

Dr. Erlinda Nusron Yunus highlighted the significance of the visit, stating, “Our collaboration with HUST has been a cornerstone of our international academic outreach. The success we’ve achieved together in co-hosting conferences like APMRC and ICECH has shown us the immense potential of this partnership. Expanding it to student and faculty exchanges and joint workshops is a natural evolution that will greatly benefit our academic communities and strengthen our regional ties.”

The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding and a shared vision for a more comprehensive and enduring partnership. By fostering these new areas of collaboration, PPM School of Management and Hanoi University of Science and Technology are not only strengthening their bilateral relationship but also contributing to the advancement of management education and research across the Asia-Pacific region. This new chapter promises to create a richer learning environment for students and a more dynamic research ecosystem for faculty for years to come.
