Program Description

Program Dates: 12-20 July 2026 

Ready to turn real community problems into startup ideas?  

Immerse yourself in Indonesia’s local communities while gaining real-world business and startup experience. Through this intensive 9-day Summer Program, participants will explore Indonesia’s business ecosystem and local communities, apply design thinking to solve real SME and community challenges, and transform ideas into innovative startup solutions.

Academic Courses (8 Credits from PPM School)  

  • Appreciation of Arts & Culture (2 Credits)
  • Consumer Behavior: Insights and Applications (3 Credits)
  • Business Communication (3 Credits)

Courses will be delivered by PPM School’s and UNPAK’s faculty and guest professionals from related industries. Local mentors will also accompany students during the Bogor-Jakarta trip to support cultural adaptation and engagement. 

Program Highlights

This program combines academic learning, field immersion, company visits, prototyping workshops, and final business pitching to help you build entrepreneurial skills, cross-cultural awareness, and real-world problem-solving experience. Program highlights include:

Program Schedule Overview

Day 1 – Arrival (12 July 2026)  

Airport pickup (Soekarno-Hatta) → Transfer to Bogor  

Day 2 – Opening & Business Digitalization  

Opening Ceremony, Project Briefing, Business Digitalization Class, Company Visit / Guest Lecture  

Day 3 – Full Day Company Visit  

Industry exposure & business ecosystem exploration  

Day 4 – Design Thinking: Empathize & Define  

Field visit to Kampung Labirin (community immersion & problem identification)  

Day 5 – Ideation & Prototyping Workshop

Program Fees

 

Fees include: all academic sessions (online and in-person), accommodation in Bogor and Jakarta, breakfast & lunch, Bogor & Jakarta excursion tickets, certificate, and complete documentation. 

Fees exclude: international & national airfare, visa (if any), passport & travel insurance costs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the format of the program?

The program is a 9-day onsite experiential learning program held in Bogor and Jakarta, Indonesia. It combines interactive academic sessions, company visits, community immersion, and hands-on workshops. Participants will work in teams to explore real SME and community challenges, apply design thinking, develop startup ideas, and present their solutions in a final business pitching session. The program also includes cultural experiences and city exploration activities to provide a well-rounded understanding of Indonesia’s business and social environment.

What is the main language of instruction?

 All sessions will be conducted in English

Who is eligible to apply?

Undergraduate and graduate students from any major who are interested in innovation, business digitalization, and community empowerment.  

Will I receive a certificate and transcript?

Yes, participants who complete and meet the project requirements will receive the full program certificate and transcript.

How do I apply?

Simply fill out the online registration form and upload the required documents: 

  • Passport scan (or ID) 
  • Student ID 

Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email with further details and the next steps.

When is the application deadline?

The application deadline is on 25 May 2026.

 

As for payment, payment deadlines depend on the registration category: 

Early Bird Application

  • Down Payment (DP) 50% Deadline: 30 April 2026
  • Full Payment Deadline: 4 May 2026

Regular Application

  • Down Payment (DP) 50% Deadline: 1 June 2026
  • Full Payment Deadline: 12 June 2026

How will I know if I’ve been accepted?

Accepted applicants will receive an official acceptance letter by email, along with payment instructions. 

Can I cancel after applying?

Yes. To cancel your participation, please submit a cancellation request via email to the Summer Program Committee at international@ppmschool.comIf your request is received before 15 June 2026, you will be eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations submitted after that date are non-refundable.

Is there a selection test?

No, there is no selection test. Applicants simply need to follow the application procedures, including submitting the required documents and completing payment according to the timeline. 

Do I need an English proficiency certificate (TOEFL/IELTS)?

No, we do not require an English proficiency certificate (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS) for this program. However, participants are expected to have a working proficiency in English, as the program will be conducted entirely in English. 

What is included in the program fee?

The fee includes academic sessionsaccommodation in Bogor & Jakartabreakfast and lunch, excursions, company visits, a certificate of completion, and full documentation. 

What is not included in the fee?

International airfare, visa (if any) and passport arrangements, and travel insurance.  

What should I do after making the payment?

After completing your payment, send your payment proof to international@ppmschool.ac.id. You will then receive a confirmation email with all the necessary onboarding information, such as the detailed schedule, what to prepare, accommodation info, and cultural guidance.

Are scholarships or financial aid available?

Currently, we do not offer scholarships. However, early bird discounts are available for those who apply before the specified deadline.

Do I have to arrange my own travel to Jakarta?

Yes, international and domestic travel to Jakarta is the participant’s responsibility. The program includes accommodation and activities once you arrive in Soekarno-Hatta Airport

Will someone pick me up at the airport in Jakarta?

Airport pick-up service will be available only at scheduled times arranged by the program.

Participants who arrive outside the scheduled pick-up times will be required to arrange their own transportation to the accommodation. However, detailed guidance and directions will be provided to ensure participants can reach the accommodation safely. The pick-up schedule and transportation guidance will be shared with participants after the payment process is completed.

What should I bring for the program?

A detailed checklist will be shared by email including clothing recommendations, cultural etiquette tips, and suggested items after payment is done.

Will I need a visa to enter Indonesia?

Visa requirements depend on your nationality.

  • Citizens of most ASEAN countries (e.g., Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam) may enter Indonesia without a visa for short stays (up to 30 days) for tourism or educational purposes. However, regulations may change, and some nationalities may still require an e-visa or visa on arrival.
  • We strongly recommend that all applicants—especially those from outside ASEAN—consult the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in their home country for the most up-to-date visa information before making any travel arrangements. 

Is travel insurance required?

Yes. All participants must have valid travel insurance that covers their stay in Indonesia for the duration of the summer program. Please note that the organizers do not provide travel insurance, and it must be arranged individually and sent to international@ppmschool.ac.id .

What should I prepare for immigration clearance at Jakarta airport?

Upon arrival in Jakarta, participants are required to complete the Indonesian immigration and arrival procedures. You are advised to install the official Indonesian government applications before arrival to ensure a smooth immigration process. 

General steps include: 

  1. Install the official Indonesian Immigration application (for e-Visa and immigration clearance, if applicable). 
  1. Complete the electronic Customs Declaration (e-CD) as required by Indonesian Customs. 
  1. Install the official Indonesia health/travel application if required by current regulations. 
  1. Ensure your passport, visa, and arrival information are ready for inspection. 

Detailed guidance, including which apps to install, download links, and step-by-step instructions, will be shared with participants after payment confirmation and prior to arrival.
